Have you ever had this experience?Every Sunday night, you can’t help but check your horoscope’s Weekly Love Horoscope. Those predictions always seem so tantalizing: “An unexpected romance will happen this week!”, “With Venus energy adding to the mix, you’ll be rewarded with a sweet surprise!”…… But then you wait until the end of the week and look back and it seems like nothing happened.
I’m the same way, every time I read it, I’m full of anticipation, but the next day I’m still eating alone, going to work alone, and not even having a conversation with anyone. So I started to wonder: are these so-called weekly love horoscopes reliable or not?Are they just eye-catching word games?
In order to clarify this issue, I decided to personally do an “experiment” to see if these horoscope predictions can accurately predict my real life.
Step 1: Understand your own astrolabe.
First, I had to find out the basic information about my horoscope.Although I don’t know much about astrology, I did look up the time and place of my birth for this test, and I also made a point of calculating my rising sign.
To be honest, it’s a bit of a cumbersome process, and not everyone is willing to take the time to work out these details. Many people reading Weekly Love Horoscopes may not even be clear about their own rising sign, and believe it by looking directly at their sun sign.
Step 2: Pick a few mainstream horoscope websites.
Next, I picked five of the more famous horoscope websites, each of which publishes Weekly Love Horoscopes for each sign of the zodiac.I listed them out one by one, ready to record my life every day and compare it to those predictions.
I even printed out those horoscopes and pasted them on the wall, and the first thing I did when I woke up every morning was to see if anything “fated” would happen today.

Step 3: Record every day of your life.
From Monday to Sunday, I took notes every day.Even the little things, like:
- Did someone look at me more than once?
- The cashier talking to me?
- Finding a little gift from an ex?
I wrote it all down.Because I want to know if those little, insignificant things match up with those astrological predictions.
Step 4: End of the week, start comparing results.
Finally, it was the end of the week, and I took out my notebook and turned page after page, checking each one against the Weekly Love Horoscopes given by those five websites.
How did it turn out?Quite disappointing, to be honest.
Monday: unexpected romance?No way.
One of the sites said, “You might meet someone who makes your heart flutter on Monday.”I just went to the convenience store to buy a bottle of water, and the neighbor’s kid asked me, “Uncle, did you not sleep well last night?”–And that was it, no romantic drama at all.
Another website mentions that “money issues affect relationships”.I did pay my rent that day, but that’s something I do every month, so what does it have to do with love? It’s too far-fetched.
WEDNESDAY: Old people resurfacing? It’s just a memory.
A website predicted that there would be “news about past lovers on Wednesday”.When I was organizing my room, I found a ticket stub from a concert I went to with my ex.It’s a bit of a coincidence, but is it really “luck”?I think it’s more like a coincidence.
Besides this little incident, all the other predictions for Wednesday have failed. Not to mention contacting my ex, I didn’t even get a few tweets.
Friday: communication breakthrough?Socially active?Overthink it.
Most websites say that Friday will be a “communication breakthrough” or a “social buzz”.But what did I do that day?Ordered a pizza, fought with a delivery app for half an hour, and watched three episodes of a documentary about beavers. ……
I didn’t even bother to leave the house, let alone go on a date.Where’s the socializing?Where’s the communication breakthrough?
Final Verdict: Weekly Love Horoscopes are basically inaccurate.
After this week’s track record, I realized that most of these so-called Weekly Love Horoscopes are actually vague statements that sound like they’re giving you hope, but upon closer inspection, they have almost no real meaning.
Some of the predictions are very broadly worded, such as “mood swings”, “seeking balance”, “inner desire for change”.These words make sense to anyone, like a universal template. If you’re in a bad mood, you’ll feel like it hits the mark; if you’re in a good mood, you’ll feel like it makes sense.
The more specific predictions, such as “there will be a new relationship”, “there will be an unexpected confession”, etc., almost all did not come true.Occasionally there are one or two coincidences, but they are just trivial things that happen in life, and they are forced to be predicted.
True feelings: Don’t take it too seriously, just treat it as entertainment.
In fact, I think the biggest role of Weekly Love Horoscopes is to give us something to talk about, or to keep us a little bit expectant about life.It can’t decide our fate or tell us what will happen tomorrow.
Instead of staring at horoscopes every day, it is better to manage your relationships, take the initiative to meet new people and enhance your self-charm.True destiny never comes out of nowhere just because you read some horoscope prediction.
But then again, it’s kind of fun to read these weekly love horoscopes once in a while. At least it gives me one more thing to spit out on a boring weekend.
Summarize.
Through this real test, I am more convinced that Weekly Love Horoscopes is not an accurate predictor of the future. It is more of a psychological hint or a spice of life.We can take it as a light reading, but don’t rely too much on it to make decisions.
So the next time you see a prediction like “You’ll meet your soul mate this week,” laugh it off. It’s up to you to make your own luck.
If you enjoyed this, feel free to leave a comment and tell me what you think about the Weekly Love Horoscopes, and let’s talk about what’s going on between horoscopes and love!
